From London to Lebanon to the USA. A Tea Revolution in a Stick

It all began in East London, with two childhood friends: Ricky and Kim.

They met at the age of four and grew up side by side — from nursery through university — bonded not just by time, but by a shared love for tea. Their favorite ritual? Hanging out at Ricky’s home after school, where the air was always filled with the rich aroma of his parents’ homemade Indian masala chai: a bold blend of cinnamon, spices, and loose-leaf Assam tea brewed in milk. Years later, still best friends and still tea-obsessed, Ricky and Kim had an idea.

What if tea could be… different?

In a small warehouse in East London, they got to work; blending, experimenting, and hand-packing their first tea sticks. What they created wasn’t just a tea product. It was a whole new tea experience, a fusion of craftsmanship, chemistry, and joy. Ricky brought the deep tea knowledge and Kim brought the design-forward innovation. Together, they launched Sticksology — and it stirred things up.

Fast forward to summer 2024… A warm night in Lebanon. A seaside dinner. And a moment that changed everything.

We, Sami and Lydine, were visiting home from Cleveland, Ohio. After dinner, Lydine ordered a tea. What arrived wasn’t a pot or a teabag — it was a sleek, colorful stick served on a wooden tray, almost like a little piece of art. IT WAS INSTANT. THE FLAVOUR, THE DESIGN, and THE SIMPLICITY.
